Coen

Coen

Coen is the player character: a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, human by day and vampire by night. He is the eldest son of a silver-country household in Laslea. Mother Esme is sick. Father Pieter gives the sword lessons. Siblings Yanna, Mirto, and Lunka share the house. He keeps Latin as a secret. Understand who he is before the Blood Mass, because the household clock starts spending as soon as quests exist.

Eldest son of the silver country

The community bulletin on Coen’s roots is the biography. Silver country. Eldest son. Sick mother Esme. Mercenary father Pieter. Siblings Yanna, Mirto, and Lunka. Secret Latin. Anca the herbalist is not family and is still the daylight teacher. Skender Dragosti is the vanished human lord over the village, not a relative. Those names are the entire opening cast first-party copy will give you without a spoiler dump.

Steam’s short description may appear once on the hub. It is not repeated here as a facts box. The useful sentence on this page is the household: if you cannot name the five people in the house, you do not yet know Coen well enough to spend their remaining days.

Secret Latin is a character fact, not a puzzle hint this page will spoil. It sits beside Pieter’s sword and Esme’s illness as evidence that Coen is already split — scholar and son — before the Blood Mass makes the split literal.

The Blood Mass

The transformation is the Blood Mass. After it, the two loops are not a costume change; they are the whole combat and exploration grammar. Human at noon. Vampire after the disc drops. Witchcraft stays on the day body. Vampirism spends health, corruption, and sacrifice on the night body. Swordmastery from Pieter sits under both.

A Dawnwalker is Born is a hidden Steam row. The title achievement The Blood of Dawnwalker is “Finish the story.” Together Forever is hidden. Those names mark that Coen’s story has stops. They do not tell you which stop to pick. The story teaser on this page is the voice and the face; the opening cinematic is the valley he is trying to save.

After the Mass, Anca’s hexes and the night kit both belong to him. The family still belongs to him. That double ownership is the tragedy the numbered-days system is built to enforce. A power fantasy that ignores Esme is playing a different protagonist.

Spend his days on purpose

The numbered-days system is Coen’s family, not a world-timer with a cute UI. Taking quests spends the remaining days. Inaction still moves Vale Sangora. Not everyone can be helped. That pressure is the character. A Coen who treats Laslea as a tutorial yard has already misunderstood the person he is playing.

Read First nights for the three-id checklist. Read Day and night for the two loops. Read Vrakhiri when you can name Brencis as Caeso Burrienus Laurentius, born AD 131, voiced by Andrew James Spooner. Coen has to live under that court.

Lunka’s tutorial pathing is in the hotfix because the child matters enough to patch in week one. That is a character note as much as a bug note. Follow her. Then spend the days on the house you can already name.
